Naturally Free Organic Layer Feed 16% For Chickens & Ducks

Scratch and Peck Feeds Naturally Free Organic Layer Feed 16% Protein is a Certified Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified product. While all of our products are soy-free, this product is both soy-free and corn-free.

Scratch and Peck Feeds Naturally Free Organic Layer Feed 16%  is a special blend of cracked organic grains, organic flax meal, and select vitamins and minerals sourced from North American farms. Similar to Naturally Free Organic Starter and Grower, our Naturally Free Organic Layer Feed 16% contains an optimum level of protein for Stage Three feeding.

This Stage Three feed is appropriate for laying hens ages 20+ weeks that may require extra protein to support increased egg production during molting season. The higher levels of calcium found in this blend help to produce stronger eggshells.

This feed is suitable for ducks, geese, and all waterfowl.

Located in Burlington WA, they are pioneers in the feed industry. Scratch and Peck Feeds was the first organic chicken feed manufacturer in North America to receive the official badges of USDA Certified Organic and Non-GMO Verified. Today, they produce only the most premium animal feeds including organic chicken feed, livestock feeds, specialty feeds, supplements, and treats sourced from North American farmers, growers, and producers.

Ingredients:

Organic Wheat, Organic Barley, Organic Peas, Organic Flaxseed Meal, Ground Limestone, Fish Meal, Organic Flaxseed Oil, Vitamin and Mineral Premix

Your hens should be approaching their full grown size at approximately 20 weeks of age. Begin introducing Naturally Free Organic Layer 16% gradually to allow for a slow adjustment to the new feed formula. This is more important when switching from a different type of feed such as crumbles or pellets as your chickens may not immediately know how to consume a mash style feed.

Refill feeders only after all feed has been consumed (til they “clean up their plates”). Trough feeders provide the best access to our whole grain feeds. Be sure to offer fresh water, plenty of Cluckin’ Good Layer Grit and you can begin to supplement oyster shell at this age.

Feel free to continue offering Organic 3-Grain Scratch or Organic Scratch n’ Corn by tossing around their run to promote foraging (scratching and pecking) or use as a training tool!
